Lucy lu

Her leash training has been excellent. She knows basic commands & pulls only if she's really excited ( look a squirrel!) Or has to go #2. The word chill is her command to cool her jets. She does & she always looks back at me like "I'm sorry".

She got to meet Logan & Yoshi for a play date. She loved running around with no leash and another furry four legs chasing her. More tug on me to rent a house next year.

Life has been good. Just Lucy and work. Looking forward to the holidays a bit.

& in other news...

Personal growth: I found myself in the baby isle & not automatically crying. I even ended up buying a few outfits for my boss who's son was born on Monday.
The fact that I was smiling as I went through a rack of baby boy clothes surprised me. I felt normal. For just that moment.

I've been spending my days off at the museum and around my neighborhood. Glad I have a dog to take walks with!
Not looking forward to winter.

On with the show!

I love Lucy

I have been looking for a pup. (Penny the cat did not work out)
I knew I wanted a pound puppy, preferred a bit of training already. That's just what I got.

She is supposed to be a boxer mix but I'm thinking she's just a Heinz 57.

Meet: Lucy! Her name was Hayleigh Lynette before and I couldn't... I just couldn't leave it as that.
Why Lucy?

Scarlet Jo Hanson's character (girl crush on scar Jo)
I love Lucy... Lucille Ball is one of my favs
And Lucy in the sky ( LSD anyone?) Beatles Song & the Song/character from the movie I Am Sam... Which was part inspiration for my Super Angela book.

It has been less then 24 hours and she has been such a heart warmer.
Two accidents in the house. One out excitement & the other she did try to wake me up. But she normally goes & sits by the door when she has to go.

Loves to play & gets so excited to play tug o war or fetch.

Working on leash walking & a few other tricks.

Halloween 2014

I am excited about how my life will be next year this time. Big plans are a brewin.

I had Halloween off & passed out candy. It was freezing but I felt for the kids that would be out. Very cold and people used the S word (snow).

I woke up on Saturday to a parade going past my house. I am really looking forward to the old west end festival in June.

Sunday Carissa and I had brunch at black kite and a walk in the neighborhood. We found an estate sale!

$4 is all we spent.
I got: picnic basket, and two vintage wine decanters.
She got: a set of glass & cork containers.

So beyond excited to decorate for Christmas!

My friend came up from Pittsburgh to attend my dads Halloween party. & I went back to the estate sale and scored more for 50% off.  Pampered chef pizza stone $5 is the most I spent.
I need more weekends like this.

a little fall

Work has been a bit more relaxed. Which is nice, I have more time to spend in my new apt & neighborhood. I am falling in love with the houses and community. There is always an estate sale! Which, with having a new place... I am finding great deals on stuff I need/want ( mostly kitchen items) today I spent under $5 and carried home a bunch.
I took a stroll down a new street which lead to such findings.

excited for the weekend to come.
my dads annual Halloween party
(my friend Bre is coming from Pittsburgh)
there is a photography walk on sunday that i hope to make it to.

2 months till Christmas. WHOA!

home. I am home.

The last two years are finally coming to a close. It has been tiring weeding out the people, places, things and habits that are destructive and do not enhance the quality of my life. My goal in life is to have the smiles out weigh the frowns. It is a day to day process and slowly the balance is shifting.

Huge news on my end: I finally have my own place.
I live just a few blocks from the Toledo Art Museum ( one of my happy places on earth).  My neighbors are friendly. Its a big art...hippie...dog walking... bike riding...community. AND im only a mile away from work.
It is, The Historic Old West End. I feel like I am going to be a lifer.

Carissa is coming to my house every Sunday ( and back to hers on Sunday nights for the walking dead!)
Last week we went to a OWE coffee shop called Black Kite and had brunch. I will let the pics speak for themselves.  It was so delish.

I feel more than blessed to be ale to be sitting on my couch...in my living room... in my apartment writing this. Much to  log and blog about coming up & lets not forget... I can finally get some stuff published!.
